What’s Cooking (Designing)?

Paola Antonelli is the Senior Curator of Architecture & Design at the Museum of Modern Art, in New York, where she is also Director of Research and Development. She is interested in how design interacts with and influences all aspects of life.

In this talk from MAD4, she applies this thinking to the world of cooking. She explores how designers influence the world of cooking, and vice versa, and addresses the question of whether cooking is an art or a craft. To Antonelli, cooking and design are both, as they have to respond to needs and perform specific functions, no matter how abstract they might be.
