Can a Restaurant Do Well and Do Good?

MAD Mondays return to New York! On June 24, 2024, MAD and YETI™ team up to host a lively evening of inspiring ideas, delicious cocktails, and spirited debate around the question: can a restaurant do well and do good at the same time?

Writer and journalist Mark Bittman will present his plan for Community Kitchen, a non-profit restaurant, and then join Erin Wade (co-founder of Homeroom restaurant in Oakland, CA, and creator of the influential Color Code of Conduct for reducing sexual harassment in the workplace) and Edward Lee (chef of 610 Magnolia in Louisville, KY and co-founder of the non-profit Lee Initiative for hospitality workers) in a thought-provoking discussion about how and whether restaurants can be profitable businesses and take proper care of their staff, their community, and the planet at the same time.

The event, which includes time for mingling with the MAD community and specially-designed cocktails from legendary Danish bartender Søren Krogh, will take place on June 24 at 6:00 pm at National Sawdust in Brooklyn.
