Leadership & People

Leadership that drives culture, performance, and team growth

Strong leadership is one of the most important investments a restaurant can make, and poor leadership is often the fastest way to lose great people. The way a business is led shapes everything: the team, the culture, and long-term success. Yet hospitality has historically undervalued leadership development, even while staff turnover remains one of the industry’s highest costs. This course explores the “hidden economy of leadership” — the idea that the cost of not investing in leadership is often far greater than the investment itself.

Leadership isn’t separate from operations. It shows up in every shift, decision, and interaction. Focusing on real hospitality environments, this course gives you practical tools to coach teams, develop people, build stronger cultures, and make leadership more intentional, consistent, and effective.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Communicate more clearly and consistently across teams and shifts
  • Handle conflict, feedback, and difficult conversations with confidence
  • Understand team dynamics and personality differences in a practical, usable way
  • Lead change, even when you don’t have full formal authority
  • Strengthen self-leadership and manage your own energy sustainably
  • Think more intentionally about culture, structure, and long-term team development
  • Build an innovation-oriented mindset for responding to the constant change and pressure in hospitality

Is this course for me?

This is for you if you’re already leading in hospitality, or stepping into leadership, and want to become more intentional, confident, and effective in how you work with people.

It’s especially relevant for:

  • Mid-career managers who are already responsible for teams but haven’t been formally trained in leadership
  • Owners or founders who want a clearer, more consistent leadership approach beyond instinct and experience
  • Emerging leaders who are about to take on responsibility and want to understand what good leadership actually looks like early on
