MAD Academy Programs
In 2020 we are holding two different five-day programs taking place in Copenhagen: Environment & Sustainability and Leadership & Business. Each program will run twice with a different group of participants attending each time. The format will be a mix of inspiring lectures by leading experts, workshops, and field trips in and around town. Applications for the 2020 programs are now closed, but we invite you to learn more about them below.
Environment and Sustainability
September 7–11, or, September 21–25
This program focuses entirely on understanding our place as parts of the food system. We want you to leave this week with useful knowledge and tools to make better and more responsible choices in your professional life. We also hope that we can inspire you to make more of those difficult but important choices by demonstrating that what we do as individuals and as professionals actually does make a difference.
Leadership and Business
October 5–9, or, October 19–23
This program focuses on the need for functioning leadership in hospitality and understanding restaurants as businesses. Our goal is for you to leave us with knowledge and tools that you can use in your everyday life, running or working in a restaurant. We also want to show you that there are many ways of doing business and that they all tend to suit different people and hope for you to feel inspired to understand your own style as a leader and how this will work with colleagues and employees.

While MAD Academy is still in its development stage, our programming is fully funded by the Danish government and MAD Foundation, meaning that all tuition costs and materials needed will be covered by us. This won’t be the case in the future, so don’t miss out! All you have to do if you get selected is to get yourself to Copenhagen and back before and after the specified dates and to find a place to stay for the five days in question.
